Spirit Pot Dangers, other bollocks

I find it rather interesting that people search for things on Spirit Pots, but they never come to me and ask questions. Uh, straight from the horses mouth? Hello? I wrote the fucking books. Other people must be copying me. Oh well. Let them. If they end up getting spirits pissed off, that’s not my problem. If you come to me and say, “Uh oh, there is a spirit that is causing me trouble cos I tried to make a Spirit Pot and now I don’t know what to do…” I might dignify you with help, but honestly, if you did not follow all of my directions, it’s your problem, not mine. There are NO remedies for the situation. Sorry. You can try all the banishings you wish. You can hire whomever you wish, to try to get rid of the angry spirit, but nope, no one can rid of it but you. You will have to find a way to apologize, because you signed a pact with the spirit, sealed it in the pot, took the risk. It’s your fault if you don’t maintain your half of the bargain. You can try to break down the pot, bury it someplace, etc. But that is not going to get rid of the spirit. Just the pot.

Don’t try to “sage” your areas. Sage doesn’t work at all. Haha. People use that nasty shit and it is completely ineffective. Yerba Santa works a bit. Palo Santo is better than both of these. But what you need is an old fashioned, stinky smoke mixture such as: Asafoetida or Sulfur, Myrrh, Red pepper flakes, Pepperwort and Tobacco. If you want a less toxic version, use Myrrh, Pepperwort, and Tobacco. Just keep in mind – open windows when using any of these incenses. But NONE of these will get rid of the spirit IN YOUR POT. It will only quiet the spirit for awhile.

If the Spirit Pot does cause you trouble – it is because YOU DID NOT MAKE IT CORRECTLY. I went over the steps. You must follow the directions that I laid out for you. Don’t skip steps. Do not ignore anything, thinking, “Oh, I don’t need this or that..blah blah.” Whatever I did write, you DO need.

I find it horrendously funny that some make fun of me because they think that keeping spirits in pots or other items and making pacts is silly. It’s really not silly. It gets the job done. Get off of your high horses. You know, I still do work with Daemons too, even though I am most exclusively a Palera. We have our ngangas, which are like Spirit Pots, but they are WAY more complicated than anyone could ever imagine, they work differently than a Spirit Pot. Anyway, I guess the “Daemonic” LHP people want to be seen as the most powerful people in magic, at least on the net. Gah, that is tomfoolery. No one is more powerful than another. I consider myself LHP too. Palo isn’t necessarily right hand path. LOL.

Let’s change gears. To the other bollocks. I’m just gonna mention spells. There are many ways to do spells. Lots of people have success with the basic and humble candle magic. This may be really easy, but it is super powerful. Why? Because candles involve all of the elements. There are other spells that are easy and work powerfully. The written spell. This is when you write a spell on a piece of parchment, read it aloud and either burn it or hide it. Poppets are another popular way to manifest changes (cast spells). Poppets are little magical dolls. You can stuff them with herbs that are for a certain magical purposes, sew them back up, and store them, place them in graveyards or other magical places.

There are so many different kinds of magic, you don’t have to choose just one kind. Many people out there call themselves “eclectic.” I have called myself this, but honestly, I hate this word. I just prefer “creative.” People have called me a “kitchen witch.” I don’t know where anyone got this. I can’t cook a thing. When I make my magical creations, I am not often found in my kitchen. The only thing I do in my kitchen is cook my magical baths and potions. That is the only cooking I’m good at.

Ok, done for chatting. Thanks for reading.

  1. Hi Jen,
I may call myself eclectic at times but also with many other explanations of what I do and what I practice magickally. I agree eclectic may be better described as crestive. Thanks for that idea it was almost like a “light bulb moment” for me. Lol As quite often I write eclectic and when I really analyse it, it really doesn’t describe my magick properly at all!

I also believe that a lot of people out there are messing with spirit pots amongst so many other things as well as similar kinds of magick that they don’t really have a clue about what their practising or not? I agree that once you make a pact with a spirit of any kind it is binding. You need to do this properly it’s not to be taken lightly and isn’t a joke. Sadly some seem to think so and then wonder why they get into trouble. Then some expect other’s to fix their ghastly mistakes. C’mon people especially those of the LHP think before you go out and do stupid things ok.

I believe that far too many people do these things long before they are ready to and by that I mean that they haven’t practiced, studied and learnt about magick properly much at all. Believe me reading a few books and/or copying other people’s work just doesn’t make the grade let alone work. Unless you want to get yourself into some really “deep dark spiritual hot water” (excuse the pun) and not in a good way either.

There are many types of magick but to practice one type well to begin with, I believe that you have to learn the basics of them to a degree first. This may not be everyone’s opinion but it’s mine and I stick by it. Do the hard work first. Then when you branch out and specialise yourself it’s so much easier for you to do and succeed without any spiritual hassles.

Really interesting and topical blog Jen!

Hope you & your husband are having a great weekend!

    Blessings & love,
    Caz.⭐️💖🌙xoxo

    1. That’s why I always tell people to maintain a boveda/ancestral altar for at least six months before they attempt trying to build a Spirit Pot. I want to get across to people that it is no light undertaking! It’s serious shit! 🙂 I see spirits going in and out of my bedroom all the time, since that is where my boveda is. Luckily I’m comfortable with the Dead enough to do this. A lot of other people say, “Don’t put your ancestors or Dead in your bedroom,” but I don’t have any other place that’s safe.
